The general premise of the card game is to be handed cards adding up to 21. Every blackjack player is given 2 cards. When a blackjack player is dealt a 9 or less and an Ace they’ve been dealt a soft hand. When the gambler is dealt no Ace cards it is referred to as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt every player at the table, which includes the dealer, every gambler is given the chance to make one of 6 decisions:

Taking another card (Hit): When a black jack player announces "hit" the dealer will deal them another card, if the adding of that card causes the total greater than twenty one the gambler will have lost and that is the end of the game, if the card pushes the total to twenty one the blackjack player is the winner and if the total has not yet reached twenty one they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a blackjack player is satisfied with the hand they’ll hold. As soon as this has happened the dealer will display their hand and the black jack player who has accumulated twenty one or the closet to twenty-one will win.

Doubling Down: A player may ask to double down which increases the wager by 100% they have laid. As soon as you have taken this action you can only be given 1 additional card. The specifics of doubling down are normally specified by the table or casino rules so before gambling make certain you’re at ease with the house game rules. If you’re gambling at an online betting house this is usually very easy.
